Job Description
SUMMARY OBJECTIVE:
Responsible for the completion of all preferred affinity partner loan application requests, including residential mortgage, home equity line of credit and personal line of credit.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Originate, develop, and complete residential mortgage, home equity line of credit and personal line of credit loan applications by phone, fax, electronically or mail for affinity program members.
Talk with prospective lending customers to perform a mortgage pre-qualification, appropriate counseling, and compliant loan application services.
Efficiently and effectively utilize the Encompass automated loan processing software system to process mortgage applications and provide initial disclosures to the borrower.
Efficiently and effectively utilize the Consumer Loan application system for Home Equity line of credit and personal line of credit applications.
Perform initial file set up and pre underwriting review procedures.
Maintain contact with borrowers, real estate agents, closing agents, lenders and vendors to assist with the coordination of the processing and closing of a mortgage or consumer loan request.
Ensure customer satisfaction by maintaining effective communication with the borrower throughout the entire mortgage or consumer loan process.
Originate mortgage and consumer loans from internal referral sources as needed.
Backup to conventional originators when necessary, including their customers who walk into the Main Office with questions.
Participate in the execution of the Residential Mortgage Departmental Plan by assisting in meeting or exceeding all individual, department, and corporate production and budget goals.
Keep fully informed on all mortgage related policies, procedures, and mortgage related legislation.
Keep informed and abreast of current industry trends and developments in the real estate market

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:
This position requires no supervision of employees.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
The employee is frequently required to: 1) Type or otherwise work with fingers; 2) Talk expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word. Those activities in which they must convey detailed or important spoken instructions to other workers or clients accurately, loudly, or quickly; 3) Hearing - perceiving the nature of sounds at normal speaking levels with/without correction. Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication and make the discriminations in sound. 4) Specific vision abilities required by this job include viewing a computer monitor; extensive reading.
Sedentary work may require occasionally lifting of up to 10 pounds and/or move up to 25 pounds. This work involves sitting most of the time with walking and sitting.

Occasional travel may be required.

REQUIRED/ PREFERRED EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:
Minimum High School graduate with at least three (3) years related experience in mortgage lending or combined experience in lending or related fields.
