RATE OF PAY: $30.35 - $39.00 $ / PER HOUR

We offer a competitive salary range of $63,130 to $81,120, depending on your experience.
This range reflects DCWMHC's good faith estimate of potential compensation at the time of posting. The final salary for the selected candidate will be determined based on several factors, including experience, education, budget, internal equity, specialty, and training.
INTRODUCTION:
In order to assist clinical staff with patients' health related needs, the Radiology Technician administers x-rays to patients for diagnostic purposes.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Operate and oversee operations of radiology equipment and produces images of the body for diagnostic purposes.
- Explain procedures and observe patients to ensure safety and comfort during X-ray procedure.
- Position and immobilize patients on examining table.
- Position imaging equipment and adjust controls to set exposure time and distance, according to specification of examination.
- Use safety measures and protection devices to comply with government regulations and to ensure safety of patients and staff.
- Review and evaluate developed x-rays, generated images and information to determine if images are satisfactory for diagnostic purposes.
- Set up examination rooms, ensuring that all necessary equipment is ready.
- Record, process and maintain patient data and treatment records, and prepare reports.
- Coordinate work with clerical personnel and other technologists and consult with clinical staff.
- Demonstrate currency of information when working with new equipment, procedures, and techniques, and provide technical assistance when required.
- Perform scheduled maintenance and minor emergency repairs on radiographic equipment
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES REQUIRED:
- Demonstrates good judgment to determine proper patient diagnoses.
- Demonstrated knowledge of the appropriate use of ultrasound equipment while viewing sound waves and frequencies in different areas of the body.
- Demonstrated knowledge of anatomy as related to radiographic work.
- Ability to work from procedure manuals.
- Ability to take and develop a variety of radiographs.
- Ability to demonstrate the capability to effectively and sensitively respond to the needs and concerns of the full range of DCWMHC diverse patient population.
- Ability to interact positively and build rapport with patients, coworkers and/or external contacts.
- Ability to work independently and organize work in a manner that ensures accuracy and efficiency.
- Ability to demonstrate the capability to effectively and sensitively respond to the needs and concerns of the full range of DCWMHC patient population.
- Ability to collaborate and develop partnerships with departments and other organizations.
- Customer service skills, including the ability to diffuse upset patients.
- Skill in using a variety of computer software including but not limited to the internet and MS Outlook and MS Office Products.
- Ability to handle sensitive information ethically and responsibly.
- Ability to protect the confidentiality of patient, employee and business information.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- Must have a valid ARRT certification
- Must have a valid and current Radiologic Technologist license
- Associates degree in X-Ray technology
PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:
- 2+ years' experience in a clinical care setting
- Bachelor's degree in X-Ray technology
