The Information Technology organization is the technological foundation of our business and works in collaboration with our partners from across the company. The team drives technology and digital transformation, partners with business leaders to design and execute new strategies through IT and operations services and ensures the necessary IT risk management and security measures are in place and aligned with enterprise architecture standards and principles.
About The Role
As the Head of Release Management, you will oversee the release process for all software and application updates into the Corebridge Financial's (CRBG) technology ecosystem. You: will maintain all release process and procedure documentation; will be responsible for process alignment with all IT and Audit controls; will be the Product owner for the Release Management process, and the Release Management system for CRBG's ITSM tool.
Responsibilities
Product owner for the Release Management process and system for Corebridge's ITSM tool.
Lead the implementation for the ServiceNow Digital Product Release module.
Maintain the current Corebridge Release Management platform through the migration to the Digital Product Release module.
Maintain the strategic roadmap for the Release Management process and system capabilities.
Plan and implement tactical plans that realize the strategic roadmap, collaborating across the Infrastructure and Application teams to maintain a best-in-class Release Management process and system.
Oversee all Release Management daily activities in support of the Release Management process, including:
Lead and manage the Release Management team - performance, improvements, teamwork.
Lead the team in executing with a continuous improvement way of working and participate in Continuous Improvement efforts with IT Infrastructure and Application partners.
Establish governance to track the performance of the Release Management process - people, process, and technology.
Coordinate Release Management process enhancements, and Release request challenges and opportunities, with stakeholders.
Periodically assess the integrity of the Release Management IT Controls and Audit Controls, report Control issues, and drive the resolution of Control issues.
Review Release requests to confirm they are in good order prior to approval for production deployment.
Work closely with the Change Management team in areas such as:
Periodic review of Release Management and Change Management integration, including process and system automation, to validate the integrity and performance and processes and system.
Being a member of the Change Advisory Board (CAB) - attending the weekly CAB to discuss high-risk changes linked to application releases.
Provide leadership to the broader organization in managing risks of change/release going into the production environment.
Enforce Change freezes and govern the adherence of Releases to the Change freezes by the Release requesters/coordinators.
Confirm change requests linked to Releases are in good order.
Participate in internal audits (IT Controls, Regulatory Controls, Audits) for Release Management-related dependencies.
Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in technology sector or equivalent years of experience.
- 5+ years' experience as Service Delivery Lead or Technical Program Manager.
- 5+ years of ITIL and ITSM experience.
- Strong understanding of the Software Development Project Life Cycle (SDLC) and Project Management Life Cycle (PMLC).
- Great attention to detail.
- Excellent communication, conceptual, critical thinking, analytical, problem-solving abilities, and organizational skills.
- Experience planning and executing complex and large-scale cross team initiatives, and experience in leading multiple projects simultaneously is highly valued.
- Experience with the ServiceNow release module (Release Management or Digital Product Release) is highly valued.
- Experience with JIRA and SharePoint are valued.
- Comfortable leading discussions with Sr. leadership and experience tailoring the level of technical details to suit the audience.
Compensation
The anticipated salary range for this position is $120,000 to $138,000 at the commencement of employment. Not all candidates will be eligible for the upper end of the salary range. The actual compensation offered will ultimately be dependent on multiple factors, which may include the candidate's geographic location, skills, experience and other qualifications.
In addition, the position is eligible for a discretionary bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable incentive plan.

Work Location
This position is based in Corebridge Financial's Jersey City, NJ or Houston, TX office and is subject to our hybrid working policy, which gives colleagues the benefits of working both in an office and remotely.
