Role Overview
We are seeking a skilled Software Engineer specializing in Data Science to lead our efforts in developing and deploying advanced AI-based systems. This role focuses on designing, implementing, and optimizing data science applications to ensure they are scalable, reliable, and efficient. The successful candidate will be adept at managing AI resources, automating workflows, and ensuring data security and compliance. You will be responsible for the planning, implementation, and growth of our data science capabilities, working closely with other engineers, QA, and product management. Key Responsibilities

• Data Science Development: Design, develop, and maintain data science models, ensuring they are scalable and optimized for performance.

• AI Pipeline Construction: Develop and maintain pipelines that efficiently ingest and process data for data science models, ensuring data integrity and accessibility.

• Bulk Data Management: Oversee bulk data ingestion processes for training and deploying data science models, ensuring efficiency and security in data handling.

• Analytics Experimentation and Development: Collaborate to build analytical tools that can provide actionable insights and enhance decision-making processes using data science technologies.

• Collaboration and Support: Work closely with other engineers, QA, and product management to integrate data science models into broader tech infrastructure.

• Data Security and Compliance: Implement and enforce strict data security measures and adhere to industry standards and regulations to protect sensitive information.

• Infrastructure Oversight: Plan and enhance the AI infrastructure to support high-volume, mission-critical data science applications, ensuring robustness and scalability.

• Advanced Troubleshooting: Provide expert-level troubleshooting and debugging for data science applications, with a focus on uptime and reliability.

• Performance Optimization: Analyze and optimize model performance, ensuring high reliability and responsiveness for applications interfacing with time series data and multimedia streams.

• Team Leadership and Communication: Ability to lead projects and communicate effectively with a multidisciplinary team to implement and refine data solutions.

Bonus Points

• Experience: 4+ years of experience in data science or a related field.

• Experience with Big Data Technologies: Familiarity with technologies for processing and analyzing large datasets.

• Machine Learning Frameworks: Experience with real-time data processing.

• Aviation Experience: Understanding the specific data needs and challenges in aviation or related fields.

• DevOps/DevSecOps: Background in automating and optimizing AI workflows.

This is a hybrid role and requires working from our San Carlos, CA office at least three days a week, with the option to work remotely the remaining days.
