Job Description
West Valley Dance Company is a premier dance studio with locations in San Jose, Willow Glen, and Mountain View offering a well-rounded, professional dance education that caters to individual pace and growth. As a subdivision of Action Day Schools, our roots are in the passion of teaching, and the staff of WVDC understand the importance of a child’s development at any age–ensuring our lessons go beyond those of the dance studio!
We’re expanding our offerings and are looking for enthusiastic, experienced Group Fitness Instructor and Program Coordinators to teach and help manage adult fitness classes during the early morning and evening hours, approximately 6:00am–10:00am and 7:00pm–10:00pm. Our Group Fitness Programs are an exciting new addition to the variety of classes we already offer! - Pilates Mat
- Zumba
- Body Sculpt
- Cardio Dance Fusion
- Yoga
- Barre
- Stretch & Flexibility
- Golden Movement (gentle fitness for seniors focusing on balance and mobility)
What You'll Do:
- Shape Programs with Purpose: Collaborate with leadership to develop exciting class offerings and schedules that energize our adult community.
- Inspire Through Movement: Lead safe, dynamic, and inclusive fitness classes that cater to a range of abilities and fitness levels.
- Keep the Studio Flowing: Support seamless class operations—including check-ins, setup, and cleanup—to create a stress-free experience for all participants.
- Build a Welcoming Vibe: Create a positive, encouraging, and community-driven space where everyone feels empowered and supported.
- Elevate Every Individual: Offer thoughtful modifications, personalized guidance, and motivation that helps every participant feel seen, capable, and successful.
Compensation: Compensation: $25-40/hr. depending on experience, education, class type and position requirements.
Requirements
Ideal Candidates Will Have:
- Certification or professional experience in at least one relevant fitness modality (Yoga, Pilates, Barre, etc.)
- A passion for health, wellness, and empowering others through movement
- Experience working with adults and/or seniors in a fitness or wellness setting
- Reliable transportation to travel to studio locations
- Strong communication and classroom management skills
- Flexibility, energy, and a positive attitude
- An eagerness to learn and grow!
