Job Overview

The Service Technician is responsible for completing small construction projects and responding to customer service calls. This role involves performing electrical installations, managing journeymen and apprentice electricians, and ensuring high-quality work that meets industry standards. You will play a key role in maintaining Edge Electric’s reputation for excellence.

As a Service Technician, you will:

  • Lead small crews to complete projects independently or as part of a team.
  • Estimate project timelines and material needs, providing written estimates to the Service Manager.
  • Identify sales opportunities and build strong customer relationships.
  • Communicate effectively with vendors, owners, service managers, and team members to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
  • Update as-built drawings and ensure all work complies with local and national electrical codes.
  • Determine efficient installation methods for modifications to existing electrical systems.
  • Provide daily updates to the Service Manager regarding scheduling and work progress.
  • Obtain and order materials as needed to complete projects efficiently.

Requirements

  • Minimum five (5) years of electrical experience in residential, commercial settings.
  • Journeyman Electrical License.

Preferred:

  • Valid Driver’s License.

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Professional communication with clients and contractors.
  • Ability to complete electrical repairs and maintenance tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Experience using hand tools and power tools commonly used in electrical work.

Working Environment & Physical Requirements

  • Stand, walk, climb ladders, kneel, stoop, crouch, and crawl.
  • Ability to lift and move objects over 75 lbs.
  • Work in various environments, including dusty, hot, or wet conditions.
  • May require occasional extended hours and overtime to meet project deadlines.
