Overview
Milliman's Indianapolis Health Practice is seeking a dynamic and experienced Healthcare Consultant, Life Sciences to lead client projects, develop innovative strategies, and foster strong relationships with pharmaceutical manufacturers. This role will focus on leading projects focused on the pricing, reimbursement, and coverage of innovative biopharmaceuticals. You will provide support to Life Sciences clients by analyzing business challenges, leveraging insights, identifying implications, and assembling strategic recommendations. The ideal candidate will thrive in ambiguous situations, enjoy shaping strategies and tactics, employ a client-centric mindset, and is comfortable both guiding junior staff and taking on execution tasks.
Responsibilities
In this role, you will:
- Serve as a key point of contact for clients, building and maintaining strong, trust-based relationships on a retainer and project basis
- Leverage problem solving skills and frameworks to develop solutions to client business problems
- Lead the development and execution of access strategies and resources tailored to client needs
- Synthesize findings, develop recommendations, and communicate results to clients and internal teams in a compelling and methodical way
- Cultivate market access insights by partnering with consulting actuaries and data analysts to assemble stories grounded in data-driven conclusions
- Spearhead primary and secondary research activities to facilitate strategic synthesis and client decision making
- Create consulting deliverables, delivered in PowerPoint format
- Coach, lead and mentor healthcare associates and account executives
- Contribute to business development initiatives by growing existing client relationships and cultivating new opportunities with Life Sciences manufacturers
Qualifications
- Experience leading projects and client relationships in a consulting environment
- Understanding of best practices and ability to execute PowerPoint-based deliverables
- Proficiency in facilitating consulting project updates, status calls, and read-out presentations
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels
- Proven track record of managing complex projects and building lasting client relationships
Required
- Bachelor's degree in healthcare, business, life sciences, or a related field
- Minimum 5 years of experience in consulting
Preferred
- Experience in healthcare consulting

The Team
The Life Sciences consulting team is a group of 60+ individuals in the Indianapolis Health practice from varying backgrounds including actuaries, data analysts, pharmacists, and graphic designers. This group works primarily with pharmaceutical manufacturers by combining healthcare and payer knowledge, available data, analytic rigor, and industry experience to produce strategic and tactical insights for their clients.
Location
This role is based out of the Milliman office in Indianapolis, IN but candidates hired into this role may work remotely anywhere in the US.

Compensation
The overall salary range for this role is $93,700 - $185,400.
For candidates residing in:
- Alaska, California, Connecticut, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Virginia, Washington, or the District of Columbia the salary range is $103,070 - $169,950.
- New York City, Newark, San Jose, or San Francisco the salary range is $112,440 - $185,400.
- All other locations the salary range is $93,700 - $154,500.
A combination of factors will be considered, including, but not limited to, education, relevant work experience, qualifications, skills, certifications, etc.
