About the Position:

The TCBH Security Department is hiring for Fire Prevention/Security Officers. Duties would include inspection and patrolling of building and grounds for elimination of fire hazards; enforcement of laws, rules and regulations; providing assistance to employees or visitors; and performing other duties related to the protection of state property, employees, visitors and others.

Job Type/Salary:

  • Open/Close dates: 11/21/2024-Until filled

  • Full-time

  • Hourly rate: Level III-$17.59, Level II-$16.14, Level I-$15.18

  • $0.50/hr shift differentials when working evening or nights and $0.75/hr weekends

  • Primary Working Hours are 8:00am-4:30pm; 3:00pm-11:30pm; 11:30pm-8:00am

  • FLSA Status:  Non-Exempt

  • Primary Work Location/Department: TCBH-Security Dept

  • Vacancies: Multiple

Minimum Qualifications and Experience:

  • Level III-Basic security and/or firefighter's course and three years of experience in security or fire prevention and protection work; OR six months of experience in security work and a current licensure as an armed security guard through the Council of Law Enforcement Education and Training (CLEET)

  • Level II-Basic security and/or firefighter's course and two years of experience in security or fire prevention and protection work.

  • Level I- No experience or education is required.

Special Requirements:

  • Applicant must be able to pass an OSBI background check.

  • Applicants must be willing and able to fulfill any job-related travel normally associated with this position and as such have a valid driver's license.

  • Upon a conditional offer of employment, Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services applicants must submit to a physical examination and shall meet the physical examination requirements of occasionally lifting/carrying 60 pounds and able to push and pull a maximum force of 30 pounds.

About us:  Tulsa Center for Behavioral Health (TCBH) provides a supportive, safe and welcoming environment in which an array of integrated therapeutic interventions promotes an improved quality of life for consumers and the community. TCBH serves individuals eighteen years of age or older who present in a mental health crisis with or without substance abuse and are determined medically stable.

We will transition soon into our new 140,000 square foot, 106-bed hospital, slated for completion in 2026. This state of the art facility, the Oklahoma Psychiatric Care Center, will feature a 24-hour crisis response Urgent Recovery Center and will be situated in the OSU Academic Medical District, near the new VA Hospital and the OSU Medical Center in downtown Tulsa.

Drug and Alcohol Pre-employment and Pre-placement Testing:  Upon a conditional offer of employment, applicants for safety sensitive positions shall be required to submit to urinalysis to test for drugs. Appointment to a safety sensitive position shall be contingent upon a negative drug test result.
