Group Leader - Inventory & Logistics
This position is located in Newport, NH
We are in search of a Inventory & Logistics Group Leader with 5 years' experience in a manufacturing setting. The individual selected for this position must be a self-starter with strong leadership ability, be able to learn new tasks and quickly demonstrate proficiency, develop diverse teams and inspire teamwork and have the desire and potential to grow within the organization
As an instrumental member of the leadership team, this Group Leader is expected to work collaboratively with management, operations, support, and other functional areas to promote a productive work environment, while effectively meeting business needs. This Group Leader will be hands-on and will spend the majority of their time on the warehouse floor.
Tasks:
- Responsible for accurate inbound and outbound material transactions, optimizing internal logistics and appropriate warehousing of materials and finished goods to support business needs
- Audit and report inventory while making recommendations on which items to order and restock
- Manage warehouse associates, monitoring work and ensuring the safe use of warehouse equipment
- Ensure shipping activities are carried out accurately, efficiently and cost-effectively
- Maintain vehicle fleet and ensure adherence to DOT requirements
- Identifies concerns and drives to root cause; implements corrective actions to achieve safety, quality, delivery and cost goals
- Uses Oracle to support Supply Chain business processes, to include executing physical inventories
- Provides regular feedback to associates in their group through effective coaching, mentoring and where necessary, implements corrective and disciplinary actions
- Leads Kaizen activities, identifies and eliminates waste through continuous improvement initiatives
- Conducts time edits and approves time for employees in their group using Workday
- Other duties as assigned by the Supply Chain Manager
Skills:
- Motivated self-starter who is capable of working without direct daily supervision
- Proficient at root cause analysis and problem solving
- Understands the principles of Lean and aggressively pursues continuous improvement
- Can work on multiple projects, exhibits solid time management skills, properly prioritizes tasks and has excellent follow-through on assigned tasks
- Effective communicator, both written and verbal
- Strong computer skills in the use of Excel, Outlook, Workday, Word and Oracle
Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED; college degree preferred.
- At least five years of related experience; supervisory experience strongly preferred.
Travel:
Limited travel required

Must successfully pass a drug and background screen
