Job Description
- Assist in the implementation of curricula activities and encourage participation by children.
- Actively engage in activities; manage cleanliness, maintenance, and availability of classroom materials.
- Supervise children during indoor and outdoor activities, always ensuring safety and well-being.
- Maintain frequent communications with parents through informal discussions and progress reports.
- Encourage self-help and good hygiene through behavior modeling.
- Help ensure smooth, daily transition from home to childcare center.
- Follow Clubhouse policies and state regulations.
- Maintain personal professional development plan to ensure continuous quality improvement.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Childcare experience, specifically working with infants and toddlers.
- Self-awareness regarding energy and vocal levels.
- Ability to work well with others.
- Ability to understand, implement, and demonstrate principles of behavior management and other youth treatment modalities, per the Club trainings and values of fun, supportive relationships, recognition, opportunities and expectations, and safety.
- Ability to operate various types of general office equipment including PC, telephone, copier, etc.
- A strong understanding of child development.
- Strong oral and written communication skills and basic computer skills.
- An understanding of child development.
- Leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Infant/child CPR and First Aid certification.
- State Licensing Health and Safety Training
- Must clear full background check and pass drug screening.
- High School Diploma or Equivalent.
- Requirements include the ability to take frequent walks, use hands and fingers, handle objects, tools or controls, talk to and hear voices at many levels. May also be required to kneel, bend, squat or crawl.
- A specific vision ability will be required including the ability to see up close and up to a certain distance, to see colors, have peripheral vision and depth perception.
- Ability to stand/sit for periods of time throughout the shift.
- Ability to lift and hold up to 25 lbs.
- Must be of the mental and physical capacity to observe, interact, and communicate with youth, staff, volunteers, and parents to ensure safety of the space and others, provide guidance and reflection.
- This position is considered to be safety sensitive.
