Crossroads Health provides a continuum of quality life-changing behavioral health and specialized chemical dependency treatment services to children, adolescents, young adults, adults and families. As a leader in the behavioral health field, we offer a vast array of programs and services that evaluate, educate, strengthen and support thousands of children, adults and their families each year.
Our Early Childhood Services (ECS) Center is looking for an Early Head Start Family Involvement Specialist. The Early Head Start Family Involvement Specialist provides education, socialization, and support services to low-income and at-risk pregnant women and families with infants and toddlers within the Early Childhood Services facility, community settings, and in client’s homes. This position is responsible for primarily group services as well as oversight of the family and community engagement services program area in compliance with the Head Start Program Performance Standards. With a Trauma Informed approach, this unlicensed provider will engage as a member of a collaborative team.
More specifically, the primary responsibilities include:
- Providing trauma informed, relationship-based educational services to clients and their family system in office, community, home, and virtual settings, including family and group services.
- Providing accurate, concise, and concurrent documentation according to program procedures and policies.
- Developing and implementing socialization (playgroup) plans, home visit plans, family newsletters, and volunteer activities.
- Updating and supporting program outcomes, plans, and procedures, as well as waitlists.
- Engaging in outreach activities as necessary.
Position requirements include:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Family/Human Services or related field of study required. Master’s degree preferred.
- Must have credential or certification in social work, human services, family services, counseling, or related field. Must have, or obtain within 90 days of hire, a State of Ohio Chemical Dependency Credential such as RA, OCPSA, OCPS, or OPOC.
- Two (2+) years’ experience working in Family Services or Early Childhood Education; home-based and/or Early Head Start/Head Start experience
- One (1+) year’ experience working with at-risk families including diverse cultural backgrounds highly desirable.
- Bilingual in English/Spanish a plus, but not required.
- Able to participate 2 evenings a week.
- Must have an acceptable driving record (4 points of less), reliable transportation, and carry automobile insurance with minimum liability limits of $100,000/$300,000 and property damage of $50,000.
