Job Description:
The Post Doctoral Researcher will perform collection and analysis for TEM, SEM, XANES, XAFS, XPS and XRD characterizations of catalytic materials. The Post Doctoral Researcher will also program experimental equipment interfaces using National Instruments software. The Post Doctoral Researcher will assist in the computer-based analysis of kinetics data. The Post Doctoral Researcher will assist in the supervision of undergraduate student workers.
The research will focus on the devlopment, characterization and testing of catalytic materials for CO2 utilization by dry reforming and hydrogenation. The Post Doctoral Researcher candidate with a strong background in computational chemistry and in the understanding of catalytic materials is essential for advancing the research objectives, supporting the group's interdisciplinary work, and collaborating with external partners such as CAMD and the Center for Nanophase Materials Science at Oak Ridge National Lab.
80%- Conduct research in the field of catalysis
10% - Write reports, manuscripts; give presentations in conferences
10% - Help supervise graduate and undergraduate students.
Minimum Qualifications: PhD in Chemistry, or related field.
Specific Experience: Some experience in working in an Engineering, Chemistry or Materials Science Laboratory.
