Job Description:
Responsible for the maintenance and testing of fire alarm and sprinkler systems and components. Assists and can work alone on troubleshooting and corrective issues with systems. Develops and promotes good community relations among various community and school clientele.
ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Constant lifting, five (5) to twenty (20) pounds
- Frequent lifting, twenty (20) to fifty (50) pounds
- Occasional lifting over fifty (50) pounds
- Frequent climbing of stairs and ladders
- Constant bending, squatting, standing, reaching, sitting, walking, kneeling, crawling, stooping, and repetitive motions
- Frequent overhead work
Position Specific Information (if Applicable):
Responsibilities:
- -- Ensure work orders are processed according to departmental guidelines. Manage work load and respond to changes in needs.
- -- Make recommendation on purchase of parts, materials and equipment.
- -- Inspect, test, repair and maintain fire alarms, signal equipment, and sprinkler systems.
- -- Maintain necessary records and reports per Douglas County School District and NFPA.
- -- Perform other related duties as assigned or requested.
- -- Coordinate maintenance and inspection activities with other trades and school staff. Assist school administration with fire drills and use time to train staff.
- -- Work with electrical, maintenance contractors and Douglas County School District Construction departments.
Certifications:
National Institute for Certification in Engineering Technologies- Level II Fire Alarm Systems- National Institute for Certification in Engineering Technologies (NICET), National Institute for Certification in Engineering Technologies- Level II Fire Alarm Systems- National Institute for Certification in Engineering Technologies (NICET)- National Institute for Certification in Engineering Technologies (NICET), National Institute for Certification in Engineering Technologies- Level II Inspection & Test of Water-Based Systems- NICET
