Job Description

The Executive Director position is with US Banks 1st Line Business Risk. The team has responsibility for the implementation of the Bank’s Regulatory and Compliance programs in the Business Unit as the First Line of Defense. The Executive Directory will be based in Arlington VA, and will be assisting in the transformation of the Firm’s Regulation W Compliance Program and the readiness for the Banks’ to onboard additional products and jurisdictions.
The Reg W Office Transformation Lead is responsible for driving and overseeing the end-to-end transformation of the company's Regulation W compliance framework. This includes documenting business processes, overseeing technology solutions, and ensuring robust governance to meet regulatory standards. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in Morgan Stanley operations and products, understanding of Regulation W and a proven track record of managing complex, cross-functional change management projects.
Responsibilities:
- Strategic Planning: Support the execution of the overall strategy for the Regulation W office transformation, aligning it with enterprise-wide objectives and regulatory requirements.
- Regulatory Analysis: Develop subject matter expertise on Regulation W, interpreting new and existing regulatory guidance to assess potential impacts on business processes, systems, and controls.
- Process Improvement: Support a comprehensive review of existing Regulation W processes and controls to identify inefficiencies, manual tasks, and control gaps. Lead efforts to redesign and streamline processes to support Banks’ growth into new products and jurisdictions.
- Technology Implementation: Collaborate with IT, third party consultants, and product teams to define requirements for new technology platforms and automated solutions that enhance Regulation W compliance, oversight, and reporting.
- Project Management: Support all aspects of the transformation project lifecycle, including scope definition, resource allocation and management, risk management, and stakeholder communication.
- Change Management: Develop and implement change management strategies to ensure a smooth transition and adoption of new processes and systems across affected business units.
- Governance and Reporting: Enhance the governance framework for Regulation W, including defining roles and responsibilities and developing a pragmatic metrics framework to measure performance.
- Stakeholder Management: Engage and communicate with a diverse range of stakeholders, including senior management, business leaders, legal, compliance, and technology teams.
- Team Leadership: Provide guidance, coaching, and mentorship to project teams and impacted business units involved in transformation initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Analytical: Strong analytical and critical thinking skills to assess information, evaluate risks, and solve problems.
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively synthesize complex information for various audiences.
- Leadership: Demonstrated leadership abilities to manage cross-functional teams and drive strategic initiatives.
- Adaptability: Flexibility to quickly adapt to changing demands and priorities in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
- Technical: High proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and project management tools.
