Job Description
Provides effective and efficient compliance with The Joint Commission standards and other local, state, and federal/national regulatory agencies.
Experience
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in Life Safety programs in healthcare or other applicable industry

- Associate degree in an applicable field or equivalent experience in related field
Certification Summary
- No professional certifications required
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Understanding and knowledge of The Joint Commission standards and OSHA Standards
- Understanding and knowledge of all applicable county, state, and federal regulations related to health, safety, and fire life safety management
- Current and valid Georgia State driver's license
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Effective decision-making / problem solving skills
- Effective computer skills and proficient in the use of MS Office
Job Responsibilities
- Provides support to the Safety Manager in accordance with the safety management process and procedures.
- Ensures ongoing compliance with all Joint Commission environment of care standards and applicable Occupational Safety and Health Administration, National Fire Protection Association, Environmental Protection Agency, American National Standards Institute, and ASTM standards.
- Leads and assists with designated life safety procedures and training to ensure a safe facility.
- Provides backup for local, state, regional, and federal reporting requirements, as needed.
- Acts as a Children's representative at local and state level regarding Children's safety programs, as needed.
- Provides support and training for the Fire Extinguisher and Fire Drill campus programs.
- Provides support for construction risk assessments, under the direction of the Safety Manager.
- Acts in the capacity of a Safety Officer during times of emergency.
