Job Description
Dispatcher / Scheduler
Student Transportation of America, doing business as Diversified Transportation, is currently hiring a Dispatcher / Scheduler to oversee operator assignments and dispatching for their fleet units and routes based in Elko, NV.
Position Overview:
- Manage the daily dispatching of operators to fleet units
- Monitor and immediately respond to route, fleet and operator issues making sure service delivery requirements are met; and advising on company safety policies and procedures
- Process and transmit information and instruction to co-ordinate the activities of operators, supervisors, and fleet units using a variety of computer-aided communications and dispatching equipment
- Provide information to customers/passengers
- Work independently to expediently resolve customer and passenger issues
- Assign units as required
Years of Experience:
- Minimum 2 years of dispatch experience
- Minimum 2 years of experience in the transportation industry
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a customer service role
Qualifications & Skills Required:
- General knowledge of Elko, NV and surrounding area
- Excellent oral and written communication skills and expertise in dealing with the general public
- Proficient computer skills including the use of MSOffice and software applications
- Must possess strong organizational skills including time management, multitasking and remaining calm in a hectic work environment including managing a high volume of daily emails, phone calls, and enquiries
- Must have ability to problem solve and display a high level of decisiveness
- Experience working in a culturally diverse environment is considered an asset
