Job Summary:
The Electrical Assembly Technician is responsible for assembling standard and custom panels, sub-assemblies, and systems. This role involves working on intricate cables and electrical assemblies, following complex schematics and work instructions. We are looking for a skilled and experienced electrical assembler to join our team.
Key Job Responsibilities:
- Assembly and basic testing of higher-level electro-mechanical assemblies
- Wiring within the system framework
- Mounting of mechanical and electrical sub-assemblies
- Ability to troubleshoot basic electrical assemblies
- May include some on-site service work
- Safely work with standard tools and portable power equipment
- Read shop drawings and wiring diagrams
- Read Bills of Materials (BOMs) to determine component parts and assembly sequences
- Assemble parts, and position, align, and fasten assemblies, subassemblies, using hand tools and power tools
- Modify parts by drilling, tapping, countersinking, etc. machine tools, power and pneumatic hand tools
- Position, align, and adjust parts for proper fit and assembly
- Attach labels and mark identifying information on parts
- Adhere to all company policies, guidelines and practices including the SPIRIT values
- Assemble components onto panel following the mechanical layout with zero deficiencies
- Wire components per the electrical schematic following predefined guidelines and standards
- Capable of completing minor modifications for metal panel work like drilling and tapping
- Other duties as assigned by management
Qualifications
Required
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Ability to lift up to 30 pounds
- 3 – 5 years related work experience
- Ability to bend, stoop, squat, twist and lift up to and including 30 lbs. unassisted. Assistance must be used for any items over this weight. Assistance is always required for anything weighing over 60 lbs.
Preferred
- 3 – 5 years related experience with vocational or further educational training related to electrical engineering technology
