Job Description

The Electrical Designer II is responsible for performing basic electrical power, lighting, and low voltage system design tasks for electrical construction projects, under the direct supervision of an Engineer or Senior Electrical Designer as assigned by the Corporate Engineering Manager, or for providing in-depth technical design leadership in one specific area (ex: lighting design, low voltage systems). The ideal candidate must be proficient in the use of a PC and Microsoft Office Suite, and AutoCAD/Revit knowledge is preferred.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Education: Associates Degree in Electrical Technology

Experience: At least 5 years’ experience and proficient in the use of Revit for electrical design and drawing creation

or

Education: A high school diploma/GED or equivalent

Experience: 6-15 years progressive experience with electrical design combined with continuing technical education

Travel: 5-10%

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Performs electrical service/electrical feeder/branch circuit/lighting calculations and provides code-compliant designs under the direct supervision of an Engineer or upper level Designer.
  • Assists in the preparation of electrical designs for power, lighting, and low voltage electrical system installations or product design drawings.
  • Interacts with Engineering, Design and CAD support staff on a daily basis.
  • Checks CAD-produced drawings against design input for accuracy.
  • Consistently follows Faith Technologies established design standards.
  • Creates technical manuals for operation and maintenance of products.
  • Performs other related duties as required and assigned.
