Job Description
ElectricianJob Description:The Electrician will help Tri-Pac, Inc. advance our electrical products, systems, and applications. This position will be responsible for all electrical work performed in the plant and building maintenance.Responsibilities:
- Responsible for overall repair and preventative maintenance of facility and grounds equipment.
- Installation, troubleshooting & repair of low & high voltage (single/three phase) industrial electrical & control systems for packaging lines, facilities & plant support equipment such as air compressors, boilers, pumps, water purification system, production plant & warehouse lighting.
- Maintain the building wiring to NEC standards and ensure any new wiring is within compliance. Upgrade outdated or unsafe electrical installations across the plant.
- Responsible for all electrical emergency & scheduled maintenance tasks across the plant.
- Ensure projects are completed timely, correctly, safely and to the highest quality standard.
- Maintain a clean working environment upon completion of projects.
- Responsible for obtaining a permit to perform work as needed.
- Comply with plant safety standards, GMPs, current standard practices and all other plant rules, policies/procedures.
- May be required to work directly with contractors regarding new or existing electrical issues.
- Must be able to physically endure the work schedule and able to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Must be able to adjust and move equipment to complete projects within the interior and exterior of the facility.
- Able to climb on extension ladders, work from elevated platforms, on top of elevated structures, and on the articulating boom lifts as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- At least 5 years’ experience in manufacturing or related field.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Advanced skills or trades training preferred.
- Must have previous electrical experience.
- Strong mechanical background and general building maintenance experience
- Good written and oral communication skills.
- Must be able to read, interpret, & modify electrical prints and schematics & document all self-created changes.
- Must be able to use electrical diagnostic equipment such as multi meters, oscilloscopes, etc.
- Must understand electrical requirements for intrinsically safe environment (Class I, Div. I, Group C&D)
- Must have knowledge of Industry standard motion sensing & control devices.
- Expert knowledge of DC & AC motors & drives (AB preferred)
- Expert knowledge of Allen Bradley Micrologix & PLC-5 family of processors.
- Well versed in ladder logic programming & HMI interface configuration (such as Panel View etc.)
- Hands on knowledge of converting relay logic-based systems to PLC based systems.
- Be computer literate & have knowledge of industry standard PLC programming & HMI devices.
- Forklift certification
