Job Description
POSITION: Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Lead
DEPARTMENT: Emergency Medical Services
HOURS: 0.9 FTE (72 hours per pay period) Rotating days, nights, weekends & holidays
HOURLY WAGE: $25.79 - $41.42
- Current National Registry EMT or Paramedic required
- Current MN OEMS License required
- Current Healthcare Provider BLS Certification
- EPIC healthcare software competency required
- Experience in Office 365 preferred
- Current valid, non-restricted Minnesota Driver’s License
- EVOC (or similar Emergency Vehicle Driving course) required
- Passing score on a Motor Vehicle Record check is required
- Clinical Expertise – Advanced knowledge of EMS protocols, emergency care, and hospital-based support at licensure level
- Leadership & Supervision – Ability to guide, coach, and hold team members accountable.
- Critical Thinking & Decision-Making – Strong judgment under pressure in emergency and operational situations
- Communication Skills – Clear, professional verbal, written, and interpersonal communication with staff, patients, families, and community partners.
- Organizational Skills – Effective scheduling, time management, and prioritization of multiple responsibilities
- Quality & Compliance Focus – Knowledge of regulatory standards, QA/QI processes, and adherence to HIPAA and CCM Health policies
- Training & Development – Ability to mentor, educate, and provide constructive feedback to staff
- Technical Proficiency – Skilled in using ePCR systems, medical equipment, and hospital documentation systems.
- Collaboration – Works effectively with ED leadership, nursing, physicians, and external agencies
- Customer Service Orientation – Professionalism, empathy, and service excellence in all interactions
- Adaptability & Resilience – Maintains composure and flexibility in high-stress, fast-paced environments.
- Five (5) years of EMS or related medical work experience preferred.
- Instructor in training courses preferred.
- Test examiner status for state/NREMT preferred.
- Certified Ambulance Documentation Specialist preferred.
- Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
- Experience in Incident Command preferred.
