Summit Truck Bodies is a quality manufacturer of custom designed service and lube truck bodies, is expanding its workforce due to increasing sales. We are looking for a Engineering Design Manager to oversee design projects from concept to completion, manage the drafting team, and ensure designs meet quality standards, budgets, and timelines.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ability to manage a team and delegate work
- Review existing designs to improve reliability and reduce manufacturing time
- Develop, implement, and maintain engineering drawing standards
- Manage Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) and documentation control to maintain ISO certification
- Plan and manage engineering projects, including scheduling and resource allocation
- Provide technical engineering design assistance
- Provide training support for engineering and drafting team
- Maintain existing integration of BOM from 3D CAD software to ERP software
- Collaborate with procurement and production teams
- Communicate, develop, and source products with outside vendors
- Perform data analysis and reporting using Google Sheets and/or Excel
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL ABILITIES:
- Requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to operate a keyboard, photocopier, telephone, calculator and other office equipment.
- Requires frequent standing, bending or stooping for prolonged periods.
- Ability to communicate by providing verbal/written feedback in a professional manner.
- Normal range of hearing and vision.
REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:
- BS degree in Mechanical Engineering
- 5+ years' experience in Manufacturing
- Experience working in a ISO 9001 certified production facility preferred
- Experience in AutoCAD, Inventor, Vault and NetSuite preferred
- Experience with Bill of Materials preferred
- Experience working in a fast-paced or multi-entity environment.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Strong organization skills.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
- Ability to successfully complete a General Abilities Assessment and pass a post-offer background check, physical and drug screening.
