In this role, you will be leading a team of analysts responsible for 1) current and future product documentation by managing complex configuration logic, the change management process, and the correct application to vehicle specs, and 2) converting incoming sales orders and ongoing order changes into fully defined product specifications for Freightliner and Western Star brands. Product specifications provide the key critical data used to develop the technical build documentation, part procurement and assembly information. This role interfaces with a diverse set of teams within and outside of Engineering, providing you with the opportunity to network and collaborate with colleagues at all levels, while becoming a subject matter expert on a variety of areas covering vehicle specifications, upper design documentation, IT systems and engineering processes. Our efforts help ensure customers receive the correct truck specifications they demand, delivered on time with high quality.

Position offers a starting salary range of $104,000.00 - $133,000.00 USD

Pay offered dependent on knowledge, skills, and experience​

What You Drive at DTNA

  • Lead a high-functioning team that delivers on the organizational priorities by leading, coaching and developing team members to their top potential.

  • Set, steer and monitor team priorities, goals, delivery, continuity of processes and continuous improvement activities to meet DTNA and department objectives.

  • Co-manage the PDC processes that review and maintain charting, assigned codes, module control table data, and related databases used in order translation and apply those changes to the backlog appropriately.

  • Co-manage the order processing methods that cover engineering order translation & release, change lifecycle, and exception processing for production vehicles

  • Ensure team’s collaboration and alignment with Design Engineering, Customer Application Engineering, IT, Product Strategy, Launch & Change Management, Purchasing and Production.

  • Provide direction, oversight and steering for technical issues and best application of complex order processing strategies.

  • Business systems owner for key engineering mainframe systems, databases and processes.

  • Lead initiatives to map, identify, and implement improved processes, training and procedures.

  • Maintain and develop metrics and standardized status reports for Engineering management.

  • Complete other duties as needed.

Knowledge You Should Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree with 5-7 years of relevant experience required or 8 years of relevant experience in lieu of degree

  • Decision maker for daily activities that are guided by policy, procedures, and business plans with oversight from manager

  • Demonstrates understanding and application of procedures and concepts related to job field as well as basic knowledge of other related work areas

  • Coordinates the resources of team and set daily priorities to meet operational objectives

  • Primarily supervises the work of entry and intermediate level professional individual contributors

  • Interprets and administers policies, processes, and procedures

  • Strong interpersonal skills including the ability to use tact and diplomacy to exchange information, handle sensitive issues, and translate, simplify, and clarify information for employees•

  • Responsible for staffing decisions such as hiring, firing, rewarding, training, and developing employees

  • 5 years of relevant IMACS mainframe application experience

  • Overall general truck product knowledge

Exceptional Candidates Might Have

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Management, Computer Science or similar field.

  • Experience as group leader, supervisor or project lead.

  • Experience with DTNA full cycle product development (PAR projects)

  • Strong aptitude with Boolean logic.

  • Proficiency with data querying and visualization tools (e.g. SQL, Tableau, Power BI)

  • Familiarity with CAD systems
