Job Description

Alps Alpine, a leading manufacturer of electronic components and automotive infotainment systems, has brought the world numerous “First 1” and “Number 1” products since its founding in 1948. The Alps Alpine Group currently operates 110 bases in 26 countries and regions, supplying roughly 40,000 different products and solutions to around 2,000 companies worldwide. Those offerings include devices such as switches, sensors, data communication modules, touch input panels, actuators, and power inductors; electronic shifters, remote keyless entry systems, and other automotive units; consumer electronics like car navigation and audio-visual systems; and systems and services such as digital keys based on smartphone app and blockchain technology, and remote monitoring.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Build evaluation boards and prototype electronics
  • Work with the hardware engineer to order all the electrical components for prototype samples
  • Work with software and hardware engineers to perform simple evaluations in the samples
  • Document findings during the evaluation
  • Participate in research team: gather information, benchmark, present, and demonstrate findings
  • Order lab supplies and update inventory
  • Under supervision update schematics, and perform design modifications if required
  • Participate in Hardware design reviews for prototype automotive electronics
  • Participate in the research of new technologies.
  • Participate in lab cleanup and set-up activities

Skills required.  

  • Experience creating schematics
  • Ability to manage & support multiple activities (time management skills)
  • Demonstrate ability to work independently and with others
  • Experience soldering electronic components
  • Proficient in the use of oscilloscopes, other basic instruments
  • Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams, assembly prints, electronic schematics, and part lists
  • Strong documentation skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Basic knowledge of Schematics and PCB layout software is a plus

Qualifications 

  • Enrolled in an ABET-accredited undergraduate or graduate engineering program with at least 2 years completed of college with a degree focused on Electrical Engineering.
