Job Description

Adler Pelzer Group - a growing global Tier One supplier of Acoustic NVH and Soft Trim products to the automotive industry is seeking a motivated and committed Engineering Manager to assist in leading the manufacturing operations in Athens, Tennessee.

The ideal candidate will have previous Tier One Automotive Manufacturing Experience. This is a hands-on, involved engineer leader role looking for an opportunity to make a tangible impact in the manufacturing operations and engineering of acoustic parts for major OEMs.

The Engineering Manager in the role is responsible to design, develop, test, and evaluate integrated systems for managing automotive production processes. This position supports new and current products, processes and tooling as well as manages and coordinates activities of the departments to repair, produce, improve, and test components, equipment and processes. 

Responsibilities of the Engineering Manager: 

  • Manage the Plant Engineering Projects including program engineering changes to deliver the engineering priorities for the customer. 
  • Evaluate work areas and processes to make recommendations for improvements in process, equipment, throughput, inventory and operating expense. 
  • Support operations team in the parts production process to promote efficient utilization leading to improved OEE. 
  • Estimate production costs, cost saving methods, and the effects of product design changes on expenditures for management review, action, and control.
  • Confer with clients, vendors, staff, and management personnel regarding purchases, products and production specifications, manufacturing capabilities, or project status. 
  • Confer with management and other staff regarding manufacturing capabilities, production schedules and other considerations to facilitate production processes and quality parts. 

Note: This section is not inclusive. Other duties are assigned as necessary to support team goals. 

Preferred Requirements of the Engineering Manager: 

  • 5-10 years of experience in manufacturing preferably in automotive interior trim and systems. 
  • Excellent computer skills (MS Office) and ability to use design software. 
  • Excellent organizational skills. 
  • The ability to lead personnel within the department. 
  • The ability to multi-task. 
  • Excellent researching skills.
