Join Kyocera International, Inc. as an Engineering Technician

Location: Plymouth, MI

Pay Range: $39,000-$75,000 per year

(Actual base pay is determined by factors such as experience, education, market conditions, qualifications, and skills.)

Position Overview:

As an Engineering Technician, you'll support production, quality, and engineering teams by improving and implementing procedures across the plant. You'll work on moderately complex assignments, troubleshoot equipment, and train others-all while applying your deep knowledge of machining processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute process operations per SOPs
  • Troubleshoot equipment and process disruptions
  • Develop and implement process improvements
  • Support layout evaluations for current and future production
  • Read and interpret CAD drawings, schematics, and technical documents
  • Maintain clean work areas and accurate documentation
  • Use specialized tools (micrometers, calipers, gauges, multimeters, etc.)
  • Model safety and accurate reporting
  • Crosstrain across department processes
  • Train machinists, operators, and inspectors
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 6+ years of experience as a technician or machine specialist in manufacturing
  • Clean room experience is a plus
  • Ability to pass background and drug screening
  • Eligible to work in an ITAR environment
  • Ability to stand and walk for 90% of the workday
  • Skilled in using microscopes and calibration tools
  • Effective trainer of hourly employees

Physical & Environmental Requirements

  • Regular lifting/moving of up to 50 lbs.
  • Frequent standing, walking, climbing, kneeling, and reaching
  • Exposure to mechanical parts, airborne particles, and occasional extreme heat
  • Moderate to loud noise levels
