Job Description
The Enterprise Data Management Specialist is responsible for the administration of item set up process and workflows for all brand types, the management of supplier GDSN data publications and maintenance, stewarding to data standards that adhere to company initiatives and regulatory changes, and high-level overview of strategic vendor relationship management to engage in data centric campaigns. The specialist will be accountable for assigned category of items and the resource for internal department clients such as category management, brand management and supply chain teams.
Essential Duties:
- Direct suppliers to address data completeness adhering to Shamrock product standards and regulatory requirements
- Ownership of defined product categories for Shamrock product standards
- Maintain supplier contacts related to data initiatives and GDSN (Global Data Synchronization Network) exchanges
- Complete testing requirements for technology enhancement and approve changes
- Review new item requests for required information: obtain accurate item information from supplier
- Identify the proper information from backbone taxonomy and manage to item description schema
- Define additional value terms for description schema attributes
- Category expertise in both foodservice and manufacturing requirements for Shamrock Foods
- Create and maintain items and all required information in the Enterprise Data Maintenance system
- Review vendor publications in data pool provider platform and either accept publications and/or send review statuses back to vendor if they do not meet Shamrock standards
- Develop a comprehensive knowledge of Shamrock Taxonomy/Description Schema and data standards
- Develop expertise in GDSN related attribution
- Collaborate with FSQA team and manage projects related to regulatory data attribution and/or certificate changes
- Manage Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) item mapping
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Associate's degree in a business related field; or two years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience required
- Experience with data base administration preferred
- Experience with GTIN's and GDSN preferred
- Strong people skills
- Strong verbal / written communication skills
- Microsoft Office proficiency: Excel, Word, Outlook
- Ability to manage workload utilizing various computer platforms/software applications
- Strong attention to detail and organization skills to effectively prioritize and manage workload
- Must be flexible and willing to work the demands of the department which can be subject to evening shifts, weekends and holidays.
