Job Description

We are a Non-Profit Federally Qualified Healthcare Center located in Central Massachusetts. Our company opened in February 2002 in response to a Community Needs Assessment that identified a need for medical service for the underserved members of our community. Works under direction from the VP of Facilities; Performs maintenance work on all facility systems and responds to customer needs as required.

Major responsibilities:

  • Assist with routine preventive maintenance on building systems.
  • Support upkeep of facilities in compliance with local, state, and national building codes.
  • Monitor building equipment and report or help troubleshoot basic issues, including HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems.
  • Learn and navigate automated building or maintenance software systems.
  • Respond to basic equipment failures and work with senior staff to restore equipment to working condition.
  • Work from verbal instructions, simple sketches, and basic diagrams.
  • Help maintain a safe and clean environment for staff, patients, and visitors.
  • Participate in on-call rotation as needed (with appropriate guidance).
  • Interact professionally with staff, vendors, and the general public.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and sometimes hectic environment.
  • Comfort using smartphones, tablets, and basic computerized maintenance systems.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to document work and follow procedures.
  • Willingness to learn to read and interpret diagrams, blueprints, or instructions.
  • Mechanical aptitude and interest in developing skills to troubleshoot building issues.
  • Ability to safely use basic hand tools and power tools.
  • 0-2 years of experience in maintenance, facilities, or related trades (internship or vocational training welcomed)
  • No professional license required; willingness to learn HVAC, electrical, or plumbing basics encouraged.
