Job Description
Position Summary: The Environmental, Health & Safety Manager is responsible for the implementation, communication and coordination of all Safety and Environmental programs for all Willett Distillery locations. The primary focus of this role is to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. The EHS Manager reports directly to the President and Chief Whiskey Officer and closely collaborates with site supervisors.
Primary Responsibilities
- Develop and provide technical and administrative direction on all safety and Environmental decisions.
- Develop, supervise, and coordinate site specific worker safety training programs, media and standard operating procedures
- Oversee workers compensation claims management and return to work programs for assigned facilities.
- Continually maintains an appropriate level of awareness, knowledge of EHS regulations and updates.
- Serve as the company safety and environmental expert when called upon to address regulatory agency compliance issues, third party safety & liability consultants and subcontractor representatives.
- Manage and record regular required inspections such as: forklift, power jack, eye wash station, fire extinguishers and elevator inspections.
- Encourage team members to share concerns or ideas to improve efficiency or employee safety. Listen to ideas, provide feedback and implement when appropriate.
- Lead or assist in investigation of all safety and environmental incidents - (general liability or worker's compensation recordable incidents, Near Miss and First Aid, and Security incidents) and ensure proper records are completed and submitted.
- Serve as Emergency support for assigned locations and assist with maintaining current certifications in AED, First Aid and CPR.
- Address specific reporting and record keeping requirements of OSHA, as well as other pertinent safety and environmental regulatory compliance matters and to ensure project sites are compliant.
- Personally conduct site visits/audits of assigned company facilities to assess and address safety and security concerns on a regular basis.
- Oversee the contractor safety program at all assigned facilities to ensure compliance with OSHA requirements and Company policies.
- Manage Personal Protective Equipment and safety and security supplies
Requirements
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Health & Safety, Environmental, or related technical field
Four (4) or more years’ work experience in EHS Field or relevant alcohol beverage manufacturing environment

weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems.
• Analytical skills, gathering data from a wide variety of sources, and presenting it in formats
suitable for a wide variety of audiences.

• Excellent verbal communication skills and presentation skills.
• Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule
format.
• Ability to exercise good judgment and render effective decisions.
