Classification: Full-time, Exempt
Pay: $104,400-121,600 annually

The Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) Manager will be responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing all environmental, health, and safety programs and policies at Corto. This role ensures compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, and promotes a culture of safety and environmental stewardship within the organization. During our harvest, we are a 24/7 facility-our harvest runs from mid-October to late November.
This position will be primarily responsible to:
- Develop and Implement EHS Programs: Create and maintain comprehensive EHS programs, including safety training, emergency response plans, and environmental management systems.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with all relevant EHS regulations, including OSHA, EPA, and local environmental health and safety standards.
- Risk Assessment and Mitigation: Conduct regular risk assessments and audits to identify potential hazards and implement corrective actions to mitigate risks.
- Training and Education: Develop and deliver EHS training programs for employees and contractors to ensure awareness and compliance with EHS policies and procedures.
- Incident Investigation: Lead investigations of EHS incidents, accidents, and near-misses, and develop reports and recommendations to prevent recurrence.
- Environmental Management: Oversee environmental programs, including waste management, pollution prevention, and sustainability initiatives.
- Record Keeping and Reporting: Maintain accurate EHS records and prepare required reports for regulatory agencies and internal stakeholders.
- Collaboration: Work closely with other departments, including Operations, People Operations, and Facilities, to integrate EHS considerations into all aspects of the business.
- Other duties as assigned.
Candidate Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in EHS management, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
Skills: Strong knowledge of EHS regulations and best practices, excellent communication and leadership skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
- Attention to Detail: Ability to identify and address potential EHS issues with precision and thoroughness.
- Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to develop effective solutions for EHS challenges.
- Leadership: Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate teams to achieve EHS goals.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively convey EHS information to all levels of the organization.
Candidate Preferences:
- Certifications: Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), or similar EHS certifications preferred.
Physical Requirements:
Occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling; occasional stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling; and moderate fine finger dexterity. Generally, the job requires the following percentages of time committed to physical activity: 50% or less sitting, 25% or more walking, and 50% or less standing. The job is performed under occasional temperature variations and in an manufacturing environment. Unrestricted visual and audio abilities are required for the safety of all employees. The ability to lift up to 35 lbs. is required.
