Job Summary
The Epic AI Program Manager will oversee the deployment and management of AI applications from the Nebula platform, ensuring seamless integration into clinical workflows. This role involves managing the overall performance and maintenance of the Nebula platform, coordinating with clinical application teams to prepare AI solutions for deployment, and collaborating with operational leaders to implement these tools effectively within the appropriate clinical and operational contexts. The manager will partner with key stakeholders to prioritize solutions that offer the greatest potential for enhancing patient outcomes and operational efficiency, while ensuring the platform's robustness and reliability.
As a recognized expert in Epic clinical applications and AI integration, the Epic AI Program Manager will leverage comprehensive knowledge to lead complex, high-impact projects that cross the health system. This role is pivotal in managing the Nebula platform, ensuring its reliability and efficiency, while driving the deployment of AI applications. The manager will foster strategic partnerships with Epic and other stakeholders to explore early adoption opportunities and stay at the forefront of AI advancements in healthcare. This role is critical to ensuring the successful use of AI at scale at UCSF Health to drive value across all UCSF Health priority areas. The role will leverage meaningful Epic technology in collaboration with the Health AI team and other stakeholders across all UCSF Health priority areas, fostering improvement in patient experience, patient safety, high-value care, financial strength, and provider satisfaction.
The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy.
Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement.
The salary range for this position is $177,100 - $195,000 (Annual Rate).

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in health care information technology, computer science, or related area, and/or equivalent combination of experience/training.
- 7+ years of related project management experience, with a demonstrated ability to lead large-scale healthcare IT projects from inception to completion.
- Experience with Epic or other EHR vendors, including managing relationships with vendors and partners.
- Expert knowledge of clinical applications operations, systems, and functions, including planning, design, development, implementation, user support and training, maintenance, quality assurance, and system testing and evaluation.
- Ability to apply expert-level problem-solving skills to issues of the most complex nature, to quickly diagnose problems, and to develop, test, and deploy appropriate and effective solutions in a timely manner.
- Expert proficiency in interpersonal communications to effectively train, support, and collaborate productively with clinical users, management, and key stakeholders at all professional and technical levels.
- Highly developed skills and expertise in project management, with demonstrated ability to plan and lead teams, prioritize tasks, and direct projects successfully from inception to completion on task and on schedule.
- Highly skilled in written and verbal communications, to develop written specifications and curricula, and to convey comprehensive technical information and training to all levels of clinical users and staff in a specific, clear, and concise manner.
- Demonstrated analytical skills and competency in documentation and reporting, with the ability to develop and apply metrics, evaluate new systems and releases, plan and implement testing systems, collect and analyze performance data, and produce comprehensive reports and analysis for management use, in conjunction with the data science team.
- Demonstrated ability to serve as an expert resource with broad industry knowledge, to lead teams and work effectively with key personnel and management, and to provide advice and counsel on optimal strategies and policies for improving quality, efficiency, and functionality of clinical information systems.
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced certification in clinical informatics or AI-related disciplines.
- Current Epic Cogito, Cadence, or Clinical Application certification
- Expert knowledge of AI applications in clinical settings, including deployment and system management.
