Westminster-Canterbury on Chesapeake Bay is looking for an enthusiastic and skilled Exercise Aquatic Specialist to join our team! In this full-time role, you'll bring movement, motivation, and joy to our residents through engaging fitness programming-on land and in the water.
What You'll Do
Lead fun, inclusive fitness classes (cardio, strength, dance, yoga, aqua, seated, and balance-based).
Design personalized fitness programs tailored to individual goals and abilities.
Deliver engaging dance classes like line, cardio, and seated dance-even to residents with cognitive or physical impairments.
Create a safe and welcoming environment in the pool and fitness areas.
Assess fitness levels and track resident progress.
Inspire participation, promote wellness events, and build strong relationships with residents.
Collaborate across departments to support community-wide health initiatives.
What You Bring
You're more than an instructor-you're a motivator, a coach, and a friendly face. You love working with older adults and helping them stay active and empowered.
Degree in Exercise Science, Sports Medicine, Therapeutic Recreation, or 3+ years of experience in fitness/wellness.
Current CPR certification and ability to perform lifesaving techniques.
Experience teaching both land and aquatic group fitness classes.
Certification from ACSM, NASM, NSCA, ACE, or similar (personal trainer or group instructor).
Comfort working with older adults and those with physical or cognitive impairments.
Strong interpersonal skills, flexibility, and a team-focused mindset.
Physical Requirements
Ability to lead at least three fitness classes per day.
Comfortable in warm, humid environments (pool area).
Ability to lift 50 lbs or more and stay active throughout the day.

Compensation Range: $20.11- $23.62 (based on relevant experience)
