F&B BOH Supervisor:

  • FULL TIME
  • Hours vary for Breakfast and Dinner shifts. Must have availability for those shifts all week.
  • Looking for someone with experience in restaurant/banquet cooking and prep.
  • Must also have good leadership skills

As a F&B BOH Supervisor you would be responsible for overall Back-of-the-House operations, focused on food production and service presentation for all outlets.  Working with the Food & Beverage Manager, supervise all kitchen team members, assist with daily tasks as needed and assure that the wants and needs of Suburban Inns and the guests are consistently exceeded while following Suburban Inns’ Core Values, brand, and local health department standards.  Essential Functions:

  • Report to work in professionally appropriate attire, presented neat, and clean
  • Greet all guests in a friendly, positive manner.  Ask questions of guests and make personal connections to make them feel they are welcome and valued
  • Directly supervise staff, manage food production for all outlets, ensuring proper preparation and presentation, using approved standard recipes—being hands-on as needed.  Randomly inspect final presentation of plated food before going to guest, and any buffet presentations.
  • Assure that effective orientation and training for new staff and professional development activities for experienced staff are planned and implemented
  • Inspect to ensure that all safety, sanitation, energy management, preventive maintenance, and other standards are consistently met
  • Plan, approve, and post the weekly schedule, stepping in to work positions as needed to help manage the short-range staffing needs of the department
  • Establish quantity and quality output standards for personnel in all positions within the department
  • Monitor and assist with inventory counts, purchasing and receiving procedures for products and supplies to ensure proper quantity, and quality—specifically weekly ordering and month-end inventory
  • Review new techniques for food preparation and presentation in a manner and variety to maximize guest satisfaction and to minimize food costs, including but not limited to utilizing tools and resources from the Brand.
  • Ensure correct handling procedures to minimize china and glassware breakage and food waste, including maintaining security against any product theft or misuse
  • Assist with monitoring repair/maintenance, appearance, upkeep, and cleanliness of all food and beverage equipment and facilities.  Work with Maintenance and Food & Beverage Manager to ensure operations is not affected by equipment issues.
  • Maintain records of special events, house counts, food covers, and daily business volumes
  • Participate in weekly BEO Meetings to assist in proper planning and execution of events
  • Record any special needs or requests and unique occurrences throughout the shift in the daily communication log 
  • Implementation and creation of new recipes regarding specials and special requests, within Brand standards
  • Other duties as requested by management

Position Requirements:Minimum Knowledge:  Requires ability to interpret / extract information and / or perform arithmetic functions.  Requires typing, record keeping, and knowledge of Microsoft Office.  Must have good communication skillsFormal Education and Job-Related Experience:  Minimum of 1 year Food and Beverage Supervisory experience or Culinary/Hospitality educationLicense, Registration, and/or Certification Required:  ServSafe and TIPS Certification Uniform and Appearance Guidelines:Uniform:  Uniform and name tag provided.  Close-toed, non-slip shoes are the responsibility of the Team Member.Appearance: Hair must be kept well-groomed. All facial piercings and tattoos that are not covered by a work uniform must be approved by management. Any tattoo that is deemed offensive to co-workers, guests, vendors or others in the workplace based on racial, sexual, religious, ethnic, or other characteristics or attributes of a sensitive or legally protected nature are not permitted and must remain covered or concealed at all times. This policy will be administered by the position’s supervisor, without regard to race, religion, age, sex, national origin, disability, height, weight, genetics, familial status, veteran status, and other protected characteristics.
