Research Analyst

Location: 100% On-Site – Arlington, VA

Security Clearance: Top Secret Required

Responsibilities:

As a member of the RPI Office Of Naval Research (ONR) Team, the Research Analyst will support the preparation and execution of a holistic ONR science and technology (S&T) strategy which will drive investment decisions for the Navy’s most valuable equities and shape the character of future naval forces.  In this role, the Research Analyst will:

  • Produce written reports, project plans, briefings and staff assignments from the research and analysis
  • Synthesize written material from multiple sources, drawing from both unclassified and classified references
  • Assist in the formulation of study questions, perform analysis of information and present findings to leadership
  • Organize and lead small group projects or studies that advance the understanding and maturity of undersea S&T capability
  • Coordinate meetings with multiple stakeholders and organizations across the DoD, Navy, Intelligence Community, academia, and the private sector
  • Be able to work independently and within a team

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Active Top-Secret security clearance
  • Bachelor’s degree and at least five (5) years hand’s-on experience
  • Strong analytic and writing skills, with experience briefing senior leaders
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications

Preferred:

  • Master’s degree in relevant program of study
  • Prior government or military staff officer or analyst at government leadership levels
  • Expertise with electronic database searching and data analytics
