Job Description

Summary

The Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) will have primary responsibility for forming and executing on New Charter Technologies’ information security policy and strategy.  The CISO will act as an owner of the business, overseeing the development, implementation, and enforcement of information security standards. 

Primary Responsibilities

  • Work with New Charter Technologies partner companies to develop and deploy strategies to ensure that the overall organization is hardened against Cybersecurity risk.
  • Develop standards with regards to key sysems including M365 to ensure security compliance.
  • Partner with Cyber74 team to ensure that solutions create minimal business disruptions within the partner company.   
  • Partner with Cyber74 to execute on high end security initiatives, using them as a contracted resource to deliver projects and services as needed.
  • Manage specific activities of partner company Security Specialists to ensure that appropriate security standards are in place within each partner company at all times. This should represent 10% of the Security Specialist’s time allocation.
  • Responsible for ensuring that all information systems are functioning correctly with regards to security policy.
  • Takes ownership of internal IT risk evaluations, audits, and security incident investigation.
  • Build an internal IT support organization that is based on security-first principles.
  • Develop an Information Security strategy, including proposed policies and controls to support it.
  • Initiate and create a roadmap of tactical projects for technical teams to meet long term goals.
  • Act as a security thought leader, holding external events and round tables with New Charter Technologies clients and prospects designed to educate and inform about the current state of Cybersecurity.
  • Partner with Senior Leadership Team to drive cloud and private data center security practices throughout the organization. 

Preferred Skills & Experience

  • BS in computer science, computer programming, database management, or related required; MBA and/or advanced Cybersecurity certifications preferred
  • Minimum 15 years’ experience in Managed Services or Cybersecurity, 3+ years’ experience in top role preferred
  • Experience in a decentralized business services environment in the SMB market with distributed IT service teams
  • Experience related to managed services, tech-enabled services, and outsource models
  • Significant merger/acquisition experience in a fast-paced environment preferred
  • Systems implementation implementation experience

Physical Requirements

Work is primarily knowledge-worker oriented using computer systems.  Occasional exertion and lifting of up to 20 pounds to move office or computer equipment.  Constant use of computer (keyboard/mouse), and phone.  Visually inspects, prepares, and analyzes data & figures, views computer constantly.  Occasional travel (car/airplane).  Occasional exposure to outdoor environmental conditions as a result of travel.
