Join our team at Cottage Hospital as a Certified Pharmacy Technician! In this key role, you will assist pharmacists in preparing and distributing medications, managing drug inventory, and maintaining patient records—all under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist. You'll play a crucial part in maintaining our inpatient pharmacy, ensuring our patients receive the highest level of care. We will also consider non-certified applicants, as long as certification is obtained before starting.

Job Summary: 

As an inpatient pharmacy technician, you'll assists the licensed Pharmacist in preparation and distribution of drugs, maintaining drug inventory, and maintaining records for a hospital. The Pharmacy Technician performs specific job responsibilities authorized by the State Board of Pharmacy Rules and Regulations.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ability to perform work accurately with attention to detail within specified time period.
  • Ability to work cooperatively with hospital and pharmacy staff.
  • Ability to handle frequent interruptions and to adapt to changes in work load
  • and work schedule.
  • Ability to set priorities and solve problems.
  • Ability to respond quickly to emergency requests.
  • Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
  • Ability to assist in meeting the pharmaceutical care needs of neonatal, pediatric,
  • adolescent, adult, geriatric, and obstetric patients.
  • Assisting pharmacist in preparation of medication for dispensing to patients.
  • Restock drug kits and supply exchange cassettes as assigned by the
  • Pharmacist.
  • Inspects medication storage areas, as assigned by the pharmacist, for                       
  • outdated medication and inventory control.
  • Maintains adequate inventory supply to meet patient needs.
  • Keeps accurate records as assigned by the pharmacist.
  • Maintains files and information resources.
