ITnova is seeking a proactive and technically driven Airport Systems Engineer Specialist to support the design, coordination, and integration of technology systems in airport environments. This position is ideal for a junior to mid-level professional with a passion for aviation infrastructure, and a desire to grow into a leadership role over time. You’ll contribute to systems that help airports and transportation facilities achieve their goals and differentiate themselves.
Key Responsibilities
- Provides technical support and direction to design teams on projects involving:
- Telecommunications
- Passenger Information Display Systems (PIDS)
- Common Use Terminal Equipment (CUTE/CUPPS)
- Access Control & CCTV
- Structured Cabling Systems
- Network Infrastructure
- Assists with the development of drawings, sketches, and specifications for these systems.
- Contributes to the creation and development of system designs.
- Supports Project Managers and Senior Engineering Specialists with design coordination across disciplines and attends client coordination meetings.
- Reviews electronic drawings for accuracy, speed, and quality, ensuring consistent standards.
- Researches and selects appropriate equipment for project design (e.g., network hardware/software, cabling, access control, CCTV).
- Ensures compliance with relevant standards and regulations (e.g., NEC, ISA, BICSI, TIA/EIA, TSA, FAA, FCC, CBP).
- Reviews shop drawings, tracks changes, and updates teams on details and schedules.
- Reviews and adjusts project specifications to meet specific project needs.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field; or equivalent work experience.
- 5-15 years applicable design experience in the design of similar projects
- Aviation/Airport experience.
- Project management or coordination experience.
- RCCD Certification is strongly preferred.
