Job Description

By Invitation Only – Heritage Halls Part-Time Custodial

This position is responsible for custodial cleaning for portions of Heritage Halls, assisting Area/Building Managers in completing deep cleaning and Saturday turn overs for summer events.   

What you’ll do in this position:  

• Clean various portions of Heritage Halls with a team of workers 

• Assist full-time managers with building projects and tasks 

• Inspect assigned locations to ensure they are meeting cleanliness standards

Required 

• A firm commitment to the mission of BYU  

• Positive attitude and willingness to work and be part of a team. 

• Must have regular and consistent attendance at scheduled shift. 

• Able to work with potentially hazardous chemicals independently.  

• Ability to work independently and in a small team. 

Physical Exam and Lift Test Required

Physical Effort

• Light – Physical effort represented by frequent handling of light objects (approx. 10-20 lbs.) and materials, or use of light hand tools. May require standing and walking most of the time, or unremitting need to perform work with hands and/or arms in largely the same position while sitting.

Environment 

• Rare presence of abnormal variations in temperature and exposure to outside conditions

Hazards 

• Moderate existing or potential hazards (Elaborate below)

Physical Requirements

• Use of industrial chemicals to clean assigned buildings for 30 min. to 4 hours per week. Use disposable gloves, full-length pants, eye protection

Preferred 

• Previous custodial work experience

Pay Grade: 44
