Wednesday: 10:30 AM – 7:00 PM

Thursday: 4:00 PM – 7:30 PM

Friday: 4:00 PM – 7:30 PM

Saturday: 10:30 AM – 7:00 PM

Sunday: 4:00 PM – 7:30 PM

Tray passer

The Food Service Worker performs a variety of essential functions related to the safe and efficient assembly, distribution, and service of meals for hospital patients, staff, and visitors. This role supports day-to-day food service operations while maintaining cleanliness, safety, and excellent customer service.

Essential Functions:

Attend department meetings, in-services, and training sessions as assigned.

Anticipate and respond to customer needs in a timely and professional manner.

Maintain the cleanliness of work areas and department equipment.

Demonstrate a friendly and positive attitude when interacting with patients, staff, and visitors.

Follow all HACCP food safety standards and hospital protocols.

Communicate concerns, shortages, or discrepancies to supervisors promptly.

Support department goals related to operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.

Work in various roles, including the tray line, cafeteria, and kitchen stations.

Set up and stock food stations for meal service; assemble and deliver patient trays.

Clean and sanitize equipment, stations, and floors after each meal period.

May operate dish machines, trash compactors, and perform general cleaning tasks.

Prepare supplemental food items for patient tray service.

Participate in sanitation and cleaning projects as assigned by the manager.

Assist with the training and cross-training of new and existing employees.

 

Education High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred Can this role accept experience in lieu of a degree? Standards. - Must be able to read menu items in English (exception is the pot-washer position). - Must be able to communicate in English (exception is the pot-washer position). - Must be able to juggle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. - Work requires ability to push trucks and carts with food and supplies.
