Description of the role
University Home Care is currently seeking an experienced Occupational Therapist to join our team in Livonia, Michigan. As an Occupational Therapist, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, evaluating and treating patients with physical, cognitive, and/or emotional challenges to improve their functional abilities.
Responsibilities
- Conduct initial patient evaluations to assess their needs and develop individualized treatment plans
- Implement treatment plans utilizing various therapeutic techniques and modalities
- Monitor and document patient progress and make necessary adjustments to treatment plans
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure a holistic approach to patient care
- Provide patient and caregiver education on therapeutic strategies and home exercise programs
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Occupational Therapy
- Valid Occupational Therapist license in the state of Michigan
- Prior experience working as an Occupational Therapist
- Strong knowledge and understanding of evidence-based therapeutic techniques
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
