Director of Food and Beverage
Are you passionate about creating exceptional dining experiences? Do you have a proven track record in managing food and beverage operations?
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Food and Beverage to join our team and lead our culinary and dining services. Be a part of our dual-branded AC Hotel and Residence Inn by Marriott that opened in January 2025. We are nestled comfortably adjacent to Reston Town Center Metro Station and the vibrant Reston Town Center. Our hotel showcases 267 beautifully appointed guestrooms, each brimming with contemporary chic, plush comforts, and state-of-the-art facilities. Upscaled high tech meeting spaces extending over 11,000 square feet featuring amazing outdoor terraces, ideal for corporate events, social gatherings, or intimate celebrations. The hotel boasts exceptional amenities designed to cater to a guest every need including our spa-style pool, fitness facility, and exquisite rooftop restaurant & bar.
The hotel features two restaurant outlets with the main outlet offering a full-service at SEVEN restaurant and bar, serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Guests can enjoy a variety of delicious dishes inspired by Latin cuisine, along with a wide selection of beverages. The second outlet, SYN is a stunning rooftop restaurant and bar, providing guests with breathtaking views of the Reston skyline. This rooftop dining experience is perfect for enjoying the scenery while indulging in a top-notch beverage experience. Guests can expect a range of high-quality beverages, including cocktails, wines, and other refreshing options. Additionally, the rooftop restaurant will offer small plate bites, allowing guests to enjoy a variety of flavors while taking in the panoramic views.
Essential Functions:
- Develop and implement strategic plans to enhance the overall food and beverage offerings
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of all dining outlets, including restaurants, bars, and banquets
- Ensure high-quality food and beverage service is consistently delivered to meet and exceed customer expectations
- Manage and optimize food and beverage costs, inventory, and procurement
- Recruit, train, and mentor a team of talented professionals, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment
- Collaborate with the executive team to develop and execute innovative menus and concepts
- Maintain compliance with health and safety regulations and uphold sanitation standards
- Monitor customer feedback and implement improvements to enhance guest satisfaction
- Stay updated with industry trends and implement best practices to drive continuous improvement
Education and Experience:
- Proven experience as a Director of Food and Beverage or similar role in a high-volume establishment with 3 plus year of experience
- Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team
- Excellent knowledge of food and beverage operations, including menu planning, cost control, and inventory management
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with customers, suppliers, and team members
- Strong financial acumen and ability to analyze data to make informed decisions
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, with a focus on delivering exceptional customer service
Skills and Abilities:
- Clear verbal and written communication skills
- Certified food handler
- Must be able to work in a fast pace and high-volume environment.
- Ability to motivate and train employees in guest services.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Adhere to all work rules, policies and procedures established by the hotel, including but not limited to those contained in the employee handbook.
- The hotel operates 7 days a week, 24 hours a day. Department schedules must accommodate fluctuating business demands and employees may be asked to work shifts other than those they prefer or normally work.
