Role and Responsibilities
Reporting directly into the Senior Director, North America Shared Service Center the Director, HR Operations position is responsible for the strategic alignment and management of the entirety of the Tier I HR Operations team which is comprised of two teams, Front Office Operations and Back Office Operation for full time employees across the region (~17,000 employees across the NA Region).
The Front office team consists of a call center for employee inquiries' first point of contact via phone, chat, email and SMS.
The Back-Office Team handles all off line administrative tasks which includes overseeing a variety of day to day HR administrative tasks. The tasks include but are not limited handling the end to end process for involuntary and voluntary terminations across the regions, implementing new courses within Samsung's learning system, Background Checks, relocation services (domestic and international), i9 processing, onboarding and asset requests and others.
A key component of the two teams consists improving/standardizing processes for the region and vendor management including RFP on a regular basis.
Maintain and build a strong functional team through effective recruiting, training, coaching and team building
Direct oversight of Tier I - Front Office Operations Team, 11 team members
Direct oversight of Tier I - Back Office Operations Team, 8 Team members
Set goals and objectives for the team and oversee performance, ensuring service delivery and processes are managed as efficiently as possible while adhering to all compliance requirements
Implement appropriate business processes and internal controls, developing collaborative relationships with other HR teams, cross-functional business units and associates, and fostering a positive, trustworthy reputation for the team
Define and create processes to mitigate operational inefficiencies and deliver a seamless experience
Direct oversight for Background Checks across all subsidiaries
Ownership of Indirect Contractor Asset Management including approval, procurement, shipment and asset disbursement for the entire population
Simple Survey creation management and distribution across the region
Ownership of digital signature platform
Enhanced service offerings related to Achievers (Applause), s.Com (Employee Access & Referrals), DocuSign, COBRA enrollment and advanced Compensation Statement support
Centralized Benefits Administration underway across both DS/DX subsidiaries which is an increased aspect to the role which provides enhanced offerings for all employees and added responsibility of the leadership role to oversee, integrate and incorporate
Execution of other duties as assigned by Sr. Management
Skills and Qualifications
- Minimum 12 years of related experience and a Bachelor's degree, or 10 years and a Master's degree, or a PhD with 7 years' experience
Preferred Qualifications:
Proven leadership capability
Ability to enhance or improve process and support
Experience with Workday HRMS
SPHR or similar HR certification
Work Environment:
Ad-hoc travel required
Expectation of in office presence at least 4 days a week at Plano, TX
