F-15E Electrical Environmental/Avionics Technician – Lakenheath

Boeing Global Services (BGS) is seeking a F-15E Electrical Environmental/Avionics Technician to be part of the on-site F-15E Field Modification Team supporting the USAF customer at RAF Lakenheath in the United Kingdom.  The Boeing Team is a vital part of the support that we provide the USAF Customer.  Boeing has a team of 15 employees performing modification and testing of the customer F-15 aircraft on site.

This is a Long-Term Assignment to the United Kingdom. Relocation/assignment benefits to the international location will be provided. Ability to meet international assignment health requirements required. If accompanied, family must also meet international assignment health requirements.


Working as member of the Boeing Team, the role is to undertake the modification of the F-15E fleet based at RAF Lakenheath in Suffolk, UK

Our support strategy allows maximum flexibility so you may sometimes be deployed to undertake support activities in other locations if priorities dictate it.

You will perform modification work in accordance with documented drawings and technical orders. Other maintenance activities, troubleshooting and modified or disturbed system functional/operational tests. You will work within a team of peers to perform tasks associated with aircraft modification. 

Candidates will be responsible to ensure established process adherence, accurate and timely work recording and contractual/regulatory compliance.  Experience of working in an aircraft modification environment or MRO would be beneficial.  You must have served a recognized and relevant aircraft training course or USAF aircraft trade training equivalent, and be proficient in the interpretation of engineering drawings, workbook instructions, and technical manuals.  

Position Responsibilities:

  • Assembles disassembles and/or modifies systems by changing removing replacing or upgrading aerospace vehicle components to correct failures or implement changes.
  • Oversees/completes assembly disassembly or overhaul.
  • Configures aerospace vehicles and test equipment.
  • Troubleshoots complex aircraft systems to isolate avionics faults and repair faulty components within guidelines published in authorized maintenance documents.
  • Performs validation/verification testing of systems and components.
  • Documents procedures and established processes to ensure contractual and regulatory compliance.
  • Inspects components and verifies repairs for flight worthiness requirements.
  • Proficient computer skills, use of the Microsoft Office suite.
  • A high level of written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills are required.
  • Work with limited supervision.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Minimum 3 years of experience with military fighter aircraft maintenance.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience installing aircraft modifications to include fabricating and installing aircraft electrical system wiring, connectors, electrical components or avionics boxes.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Prior F-15 Avionic experience would be beneficial but not essential.
  • Strong communication skills (both written and oral).
  • Good organizational skills.
  • Attention to detail.

  • Candidate must be able to obtain a work visa, depending on requirements of the country.
  • Candidate must be able to meet the cultural requirements of the country, as applicable.
  • Employment is contingent on the candidate’s ability to satisfy all labor and immigration formalities of the country.
  • Because the candidate selected will be expected to go on an international assignment, the offer will be contingent upon the candidate’s ability to obtain clearances from International Health Services and the receipt of a visa/work permit to the country in which he or she will be assigned. These contingencies also apply to any/all family members who may be relocating with the candidate.

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. 

Summary pay range: $55,250 - $74,750.
