Job Summary

The Facilities Excellence and Guest Experience Clerk plays a crucial role within our organization both for our customers and for our internal operations. This dual-purpose position fosters a lasting customer-centric culture, rallies internal support, and delivers a world-class customer and guest experience, while simultaneously seeking ways to enhance processes, boost efficiency, and drive profitability.

Primary Responsibilities

Facilities Excellence & Continuous Improvement (80% of role)

  • Take a key, active role in the execution of identified improvement opportunities and continuous improvement initiatives. This can include efforts such as data collection and analysis, reorganizing workstations, creating shadow boards, taping facility lines, and more.
  • Support the scheduling and coordination of lean events throughout all departments of the facility and participate in events
  • Assist in identifying, documenting and prioritizing opportunities for improvement under guidance from senior leadership
  • Participate in cross-functional project teams to support continuous improvement deliverables
  • Support the development of business plan objectives/goals for lean initiatives utilizing the current Facility Excellence Mapping (FEM) program
  • Help foster a lean culture and positive change throughout the organization through daily support activities

Guest Experience & Facility Tours (20% of role)

  • Manage the planning and execution of the guest experience process, acting as key liaison during visits to our Commerce Park facility to maximize overall experience - provide a positive experience for all guests from welcome through exit
  • Professionally greet visitors and conduct company and manufacturing overviews and tours as requested for customers, internal employees, and guests
  • Ensure all staff are fully briefed on the day's activities and all tour supplies are maintained and stocked
  • Serve as an ambassador and positive role model. Exemplify Victaulic leadership values and behavior traits

General Responsibilities

  • Adhere to all Victaulic safety policies and procedures while facilitating a safe, positive and engaging experience for guests and customers
  • Embrace the company's safety philosophy and comply with all safety rules and regulations

Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Associates or Bachelor's degree in a technical field such as Engineering preferred
  • Understanding of manufacturing, production planning and engineering
  • Working knowledge of Lean manufacturing and the know-how to execute those tools to reduce waste
  • Previous experience in customer relations related roles beneficial

Skills & Abilities

  • Bilingual in English and Spanish (or other languages) a PLUS
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Mechanically inclined - possesses technical abilities
  • Must be hands on with an 'on the manufacturing floor' presence
  • Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail
  • Superb communication and presentation skills - both written and verbal
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize
  • Works well independently and as part of larger team
  • High level of initiative and intellectual curiosity
  • Articulate, professional and responsible
  • Enthusiastic and friendly; positive and outgoing attitude
  • Work well with individuals and groups in a public environment
  • Proficient in Microsoft suite of software (Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, Word)
