Job Description
Position Purpose
The Manager of Physical Security & Facilities Maintenance will be responsible for safeguarding the organization’s people, assets, and facilities while ensuring efficient and reliable operations across all physical locations. This role oversees the implementation and maintenance of building security systems, including alarms, surveillance cameras, and access controls—as well as the upkeep and maintenance of corporate facilities. The ideal candidate will bring proven leadership experience, strong vendor and budget management skills, and the ability to align security and facilities programs with organizational goals.
Duties & Responsibilities
Assumes responsibility for overall security management:
- Oversee the installation, operation, and maintenance of security systems, including alarms, cameras, access control, and intrusion detection.
- Develop and enforce security protocols, incident response procedures, and compliance with regulatory standards.
- Monitor and analyze security system performance, ensuring timely upgrades, testing, and preventive maintenance.
- Partner with internal stakeholders and external vendors to ensure consistent security coverage across all locations.
- Lead investigations into security incidents and implement corrective measures.
Assumes responsibility for facilities maintenance:
- Manage day-to-day building operations, including maintenance, repair, and vendor services for HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and general infrastructure.
- Ensure all facilities meet safety, regulatory, and compliance requirements.
- Oversee preventive maintenance programs to maximize asset lifecycle and minimize downtime.
- Coordinate with landlords, property managers, and contractors for facility-related needs.
Assumes responsibility for leadership and management of the facilities department:
- Lead, coach, and develop a facilities team, fostering a culture of accountability, service, and continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with senior management to align security and facilities initiatives with organizational strategy.
- Manage vendor relationships, contracts, and service-level agreements.
Assumes responsibility for budgeting and reporting:
- Develop, manage, and monitor operating and capital budgets for security and facilities.
- Evaluate cost-saving opportunities while maintaining high standards of safety and security.
- Provide regular reports to leadership on system performance, facility conditions, and key metrics.
Qualifications
- 7+ years of experience in physical security and facilities management, preferably within financial services or other highly regulated industries.
- Strong expertise in building security systems, including alarms, cameras, and access controls.
- Demonstrated leadership experience managing teams and external vendors.
- Proven ability to manage operating and capital budgets effectively.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.
- Knowledge of compliance and regulatory standards (e.g., OSHA, ADA, FFIEC, NCUA, PCI-DSS, or other relevant).
- Professional certifications such as CPP (Certified Protection Professional), PSP (Physical Security Professional), FMP (Facilities Management Professional), or CFM (Certified Facility Manager) preferred.
