Millennium Galvanizing is a proud member of the American Galvanizing Association. We operate with a lead free kettle using special High Grade Zinc that is supported by the most technologically advanced equipment in our industry.

Millennium Galvanizing can also perform painting, metalizing and paint over bare blasted steel as well as paint over galvanized steel for sensitive areas of installation that require an aesthetically pleasing coating application.

Millennium Galvanizing, located in Convent, LA, is looking for a Human Resources Specialist to add to our team!

The role of Human Resources Specialist (HR Specialist) coordinates and carries out human resource processes and projects. The HR Specialist works directly with Human Resources Leadership to fulfill a variety of HR tasks. This includes things such as general employee support, coordinating employee engagement opportunities, and maintaining employee files and records. It is essential that the person in this role has a fundamental knowledge of labor laws and regulations. The HR Specialist must be highly organized and resourceful with a consistent sense of urgency to complete work.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • HRM system support for employees
  • Assist with the hiring and onboarding process
  • Conducts employee orientation
  • Organizes and facilitates employee engagement and recognition activities
  • Provides support to employees on various HR related topics
  • Maintains employee files and records, documentation
  • Ensures compliance with labor laws and regulations
  • Supports the HR leadership in the following:Responding to on the job accidents, fit for duty / return to work exams

Random substance abuse screening scheduling and coordination

FMLA monitoring

Annual open enrollment

Implementation of policies

Employee surveys

Performance management processes

Training and development

Investigations

Employee transfers and offboarding

Maintaining and updating employee documents

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or a related field; five years of applicable Human Resources or Business related field of experience is acceptable in lieu of a Bachelor's degree
  • Excellent communication skills, interpersonal skills, ethics, and cultural awareness
  • Resourceful, problem-solving aptitude
  • General knowledge of HR procedures and policies
  • Must be driven and have a sense of urgency
