The Sales Consultant position services retail stores. General responsibilities comprise of the proper management of an established sales territory including selling, servicing, merchandising, administration and ensuring up-to-date accounts receivable.

SUMMARY

The On/Off-Premise Sales Representative obtains and develops wine sales in assigned territory, including acquiring new business accounts. The ideal candidate should possess great communication skills, excellent organizational skills, the ability to work independently, and build strong relationships within the territory.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (This list may not include all duties as assigned):

  • Solicits sales in assigned accounts to achieve sales objectives as well as evaluate new business opportunities
  • Ensures the development of existing accounts within their territory
  • Develops and prospects new customers in the assigned marketing area
  • Regularly meets and exceeds sales goals and quotas
  • Introduces new products, programs and deals to customer base
  • Delivers product or other related merchandise when required
  • Analyzes information on competitive products, promotions, pricing and marketing policies
  • Handles all customer issues in a timely and efficient manner within Company guidelines
  • Ensures supplier distribution goals are met within territory
  • Work flexible hours which may include early morning, evenings and sometimes, weekends
  • Extensive travel (70% - 85%) by automobile. Daily driving may involve driving distances of up to 200 miles
  • Manages Distribution Planner, Displays, Warm Shelf, Cold Box, Pricing and POS
  • Manages back stock between deliveries
  • Develops sales and product knowledge to effectively educate and taste customers on products
  • Possesses a strong business acumen to best protect the interests of Johnson Brothers, our supplier partners, and our valued customers
  • Manages time effectively to meet order deadlines and delivery dates/cutoffs
  • Professionally and effectively communicates with buyers to resolve issues in a timely manner
  • Demonstrates leadership and entrepreneurial qualities
  • Attends and participates in regular team sales meetings
  • Comfortably speaks publicly about products, events, or other promotional events
  • Maintains clean driving record and current, valid state driver's license
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
  • Possesses wine and distribution knowledge
  • Must possess the ability to increase sales
  • Must obtain and/or maintain a valid state liquor license (if applicable)

OTHER:

  • Must be able to travel within established geographic areas, as necessary
  • Must have reliable transportation, hold a valid drivers' license and meet company driving record & automobile insurance requirements.
  • Performs other duties, as assigned

REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • Must reside in Florida and have a valid Florida driver's license and safe driving record.
  • Reliable transportation for servicing the sales territory.
  • Minimum of 2-years of wine and spirits industry experience.
  • Understanding of varietals, regions, winemaking and distilling techniques and a curiosity and desire for always learning more.
  • Must possess a High School Diploma
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred. An equivalent combination of education and experience that is determined to be directly related to the foregoing specified requirements may be considered for substitution.
  • Strong persuasive presentations skills, including the ability to speak before large audiences both internally and externally.
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully achieve sales goals.
  • Maintain high standards of professionalism, excellent communication and strong organizational skills.
  • Commitment towards a journey of excellence.
  • Possess an entrepreneurial spirit, strong internal drive for success, desire to be a part of and contribute towards a team, and exude a genuine, enthusiastic and positive vibe.
  • Ability to work occasional evening or weekend tastings/events.
  • Well versed in Microsoft office/Outlook, online applications and social media.
  • Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 lbs.

  • Attendance is an essential job requirement defined as having regular, consistent, reliable, punctual and predictable attendance including the ability to work regular hours and shifts, before and after hours, and on weekends, when required
  • Must be 21 years of age or older at time of employment in order to sell alcohol in the state of Arizona
  • The Company has invested in and requires the downloading and use of the app, Motus, if an employee receives mileage allowance. This app ensures the accurate tracking of mileage on behalf of the Company and is needed for IRS records.
