Job Description

Duties and Responsibilities

Provide advanced analysis and design of all types of buildings and structures for normal and accident loading conditions. Advanced structural analytical capabilities include dynamic seismic analysis (response spectra and time-history), generation of in-structure seismic response spectra, tornado winds and missile penetration and precipitation (rain, ood, snow).

Engineering services should be provided using SRNS processes and procedures. Programmatic guidance will be provided by SRNS.

Education

An advanced Civil Engineering degree and relevant experience, a Ph.D. degree and about 10 years' experience. OR A MS degree and 12 years' experience. OR A BS degree and approximately 15 years' experience.

Experience/Skills

Candidate must demonstrate 8 years recent experience

in design and analysis of NRC or DOE regulated nuclear facilities. Experience with nite element analysis is required. Candidate must demonstrate working knowledge of STAAD, ANSYS or ABAQUS or similar computer codes. Candidate must demonstrate working knowledge of National Codes and Standards; specically, IBC, AISC (ASD, LRFD, & N690), ACI (318 & 349) and ASCE (4, 7 & 43).

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Current registration as a Professional Engineer in either Civil or Structural Engineering

Experience in analysis for structural response to explosion (blast/detonation and deagration)

Experience with DOE natural phenomena hazard (NPH), Standard 1020, criteria

Previous SRS experience 

Work Environment / Physical Demands:Work is performed in an office environment and requires the ability to operate standard office equipment and keyboards. Light to moderate lifting may be required for packages and other items, ability to walk short distances, may be regularly required to stand, sit, talk, hear, reach, stoop, kneel, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer, telephone, and keyboard.
