OVERVIEW:

This position is looking for an energetic, motivated, and dedicated IT Data Analytics Intern with exceptional communication and writing skills to work alongside our IT Team. The IT Data Analytics Intern responsibilities will include but are not limited to: maintaining the integrity, validity, and functionality of the respective data using strong technical skills and outstanding documentation.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

The IT Data Analytics Intern will directly report to the Bl Analytics Data Manager. The IT Data Analytics Intern has a primary responsibility to assist the Bl Analytics Data Manager with duties including but not limited to:

• Create and test dashboards
• Organize and clean data for analysis
• Basic SOL/programming skills
• Documentation as needed
• Knowledge of Data Analysis and Visualization
• Be proficient with computer hardware and software including Microsoft Office and Internet browser programs
• Assist in analysis and operation related to SEIMS (Savilinx Enterprise Information Management System)
• Develop & maintain effective customer service skills for communications
• Maintain strict confidentiality of business, employee and customer information in written and oral communications and safeguard sensitive documents
• The Intern will learn from, and be supervised by, a Bl Analytics Data Manager

 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:

This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

• A graduate level student currently enrolled in a program with a focus on data analytics at the Roux Institute
• A strong interest in Data Analytics as a career is preferred
• Prior work experience in data analytics is preferred
• Provide assistance to the Bl Analytics Data Manager with data analytics projects
• Have an academic level of written and verbal communication skills
• Strong interpersonal skills to actively listen, communicate in ways that foster trust and show flexibility
• Team spirit and the ability to work with a group of diverse people, provide recognition and reward
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, self-directed environment under deadline pressures
• Ability to manage own workload independently, multi-task, and prioritize effectively
• Demonstrate leadership, diplomacy, and motivational skills
• Solid organizational skills including attention to detail, research, and multitasking skills
• Familiarity or interest in learning about Microsoft SQL Server, PHP 8+, Laravel and various Azure services including Power Bl, Power Apps, Power Automate and Azure Data Factory
• The ability to produce clean, well-documented Adhering to a consistent coding style, including formatting, naming conventions, and indentation to improve readability and make the codebase more cohesive.
• Experience with version control systems such as Git and platforms including GitHub or Azure DevOps is essential for collaboration and code management is preferred
• Programming language proficiency: Knowledge of languages like PHP, Python, JavaScript, and HTML/CSS is crucial.
• Experience working with web APls; including but not limited to REST and
• Familiarity with software development frameworks such as Bootstrap, Laravel, Node or React is preferred
• Database management: Proficiency working with relational databases such as Microsoft SQL and MySQL
• Perform other project management related tasks and other duties as assigned by the supervisor
• Signed confidentiality agreement

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.

Communicating with others to exchange information.

Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers. Assessing the accuracy, neatness and thoroughness of the work assigned.
