The Sr. Director of Inventory Control position requires a driven, analytical leader with proven experience in business management, inventory management, and reporting/ tracking key metrics of all inventory movement throughout the company. This role will be responsible for developing and executing a transformational strategy for monitoring and managing inventory across our entire network, performing the duties outlined below.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Executive Management Team to define, implement, and reinforce Arhaus culture, policies, values, and vision, strongly focusing on continuous improvement, customer service, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of all job functions related to Inventory Control, per established policies and procedures.
  • Ability to manage and execute large-scale, transformational projects; including project management, data gathering and modeling, and communication and implementation of changes.
  • The role will work cross-functionally with Accounting, Buying, Compliance, Customer Service, Final Mile, Planning, Store Operations, and Warehouse Leadership. Position coordinates all inventory-related activities, receiving, returns/exchanges, and tracking in warehouse, stores, and 3PLs throughout delivery processes, through order completion.
  • Create, manage, and coordinate risk reviews, controls, and mitigation plans to reduce the company's exposure related to compliance requirements across all aspects of the organization.
  • Gather and define best practice policies, procedures, and techniques for all aspects of Inventory Management.
  • Identify and monitor KPIs to measure the effectiveness of inventory management and warehouse operations.
  • Ensure that physical inventory reconciliations, analyses, and reporting are accurate and executed within the established timeline.
  • Provide department leadership, training, and strategic oversight for the implementation and adherence to controls and policies/ procedures within the Inventory Control department. Provides input and guidance to the changes being implemented in applications to ensure efficient and effective operational function.
  • Monitor compliance, perform detailed root cause analyses, and provide recommendations for improvement.
  • Develop strategies, guidelines, and reporting to support audits to ensure compliance of processes within the supply chain network (DC & 3PL). Travel to hubs to review processes.
  • Implement an ongoing approach to ensuring that SOPs and other process documentation are reviewed and updated regularly.
  • Participate in Final Mile meetings including performance reviews with 3PL providers and updates to internal teams regarding inventory performance.
  • Support the development and achievement of capital and operational budgets.

Competencies and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree with 10+ years' progressive management experience in Inventory Control/ Business Management or Auditing, preferably in a high-volume retail environment.
  • Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and project management skills.
  • Cross-functional team leader.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and ERP
  • Ability to interact with individuals at all professional levels as well as non-exempt associates.
  • Budgetary and financial reporting experience is required with an understanding of how to analyze various metrics and report against
  • Adapts to change quickly and easily and performs effectively during times of change; demonstrates the ability to multi-task and manage competing priorities effectively.
  • Ability to plan and execute large transformational projects; inclusive of change management.
  • Development of sustainable and efficient reporting tools.
  • Build respectful and effective working relationships; collaborate with others to achieve common goals as established in the supply chain organization.
  • Convey information clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing; adjusts communication to meet the needs of the audience.
  • Work with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail; strive to exceed the expectations of our internal and external customers.
  • Demonstrate initiative by acting as a self-starter; take on increased responsibility to enhance one's contribution. Act with a sense of urgency when issues arise, and action is needed and required.
