Field Automation Technician- WaterForce

  • Please note our office will be relocating from Canonsburg, PA to Triadelphia, WV

The Role:

As a Field Automation Technician, you'll support our automated water transfer systems in the field. This technical, hands-on role involves installing and maintaining sensors, troubleshooting electronics, configuring devices, and ensuring safe and efficient operations at remote customer sites. You'll split time between field work and shop-based equipment repairs, reporting directly to the Manager of Automated Operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Set up and rig down automation equipment on site
  • Perform diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance on sensors, valves, and controls
  • Use hand tools, diagnostic gear, and software to configure and test systems
  • Respond to field service calls and troubleshoot real-time issues
  • Interact with clients and represent the company professionally onsite
  • Complete daily reporting and safety documentation
  • Travel regionally, often to remote locations, with occasional overnight stays
  • Adhere to all SOPs, safety standards, and training requirements

Requirements:

  • 1+ year of oil & gas or relevant industrial experience
  • Experience with electrical wiring, electronics, or instrumentation
  • Familiarity with multimeters, computers, and basic networking
  • Strong problem-solving and time-management skills
  • Ability to work independently and with a team in fast-paced environments
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel regularly
  • Positive, safety-first mindset with a desire to grow and learn

Schedule:

Field-Based | Full-Time | 12-hour shifts possible | Travel and overnight stays as required
